Exhibition Preview & Pandemic

Equilateral have posted an excellent preview of our exhibition next week at Test Space in Leeds.

Also ‘HENRY (The Methods Of Ethics 2011)’ will be showing at Bank Street Arts and other venues as part of Pandemic in Sheffield, which runs for a week from 5th November. Programme below:

One of our big projects at the moment is a sonic and visual art installation for Beacons festival in August, ‘HENRY (The Methods Of Ethics 2011)’. We’re currently doing a lot of research and recording for this. It is partially based on the work of Henry Sidgwick, who was born in Skipton – near where the festival is held.

The Guardian have today published summer arts calendars for various places around the UK, written by local experts, and Beacons makes it into the Leeds calendar, including a little mention for Golau Glau.

High-Backed Armchair

There’s an amazing write-up about us/’Somato’ in the Armchair Dancefloor column over at Drowned In Sound today. Bigups to the mighty Rory Gibb. The column also covers our good friends at the Exotic Pylon, Leyland Kirby (who we love) and more.

We released a brand new mini LP, ‘Somato’, for free download today from Bandcamp.

Big love to Sonic Router, who premiered the release with a massive Golau Glau interview/feature on their new website.

Golau Glau in Handmade Music for Esquire Thailand

We made a Golau Glau mixtape for the Handmade Music section of Esquire Thailand, and the magazine is just about to come out.

Here is the mix we made (the feature took a while to go to print):

The Word, The Word That You Heard

Little snippet – lovely Jude Rogers links from her own blog to the piece she wrote about us for The Guardian, calling us her “new favourite band” and “amazing”:

All Shook Up For Christmas Day

Two big news bits before you all disappear off into the snow and eggnog:

Click on the pic below to read Mr Beatnick‘s interview with us in Shook magazine – also buy the actual magazine, because it is full of good things from Jazzie B to James Blake and things not beginning with J such as Moondog.

AND…

…A week today is Christmas Day and our fuzzy ginger ffrind Huw Stephens is playing us as part of his special festive show on BBC Radio 1. It’s on at 4 in the morning, but will be on iPlayer for all those not up with their stockings at that time. He’s also playing the likes of Banjo Or Freakout, HUNKS, Slow Club, Sufjan Stevens…

Mix DiS

Drowned In Sound‘s first DiScover Mixtape lists our very own ‘La Dame Blanche’, including one of the unofficial videos made by Robert of Sorted Noise – see our new VIDEO tab for links to more of those.

Very nice. Spectrals, Male Bonding and the AMAZING Nosaj Thing (we are fans) also make it on there, amongst others.
